Carlos Maisonnave, of French parents, was born in 1850. His hospitality vocation came from the family of his wife, Francisca Echeverría, who ran one of the best-known inns around Pamplona in the town of Villava.

In 1912, the Maisonnave family inn, located in the central Espoz y Mina street and dedicated to providing accommodation and meals to travelers since 1883, was converted into a hotel. Thirty-three years later, the Alemán brothers, a family of farmers from the town of Urroz, bought the Maisonnave for 600,000 pesetas. Two surnames, the Maisonnave and the German, remain linked by history to a centenary hotel, which preserves the personal stamp, dedication to business and constant effort that characterize both families.

The 1960s witnessed a significant growth in Navarre tourist activity. In 1966, the Hotel Maisonnave was moved to Nueva Street, offering on that date 166 rooms, two dining rooms and a banquet hall, thus becoming a leading and benchmark establishment that grew in the heart of the city.

At the end of the 80s, the second generation of the Alemán family undertook the first of the three major renovations that have taken place in the hotel in recent decades and that have made it what it is today. The remodeling that culminated in 2013 has made it possible to obtain the fourth star and has opened a stage in which it is committed to leaving a mark on those who visit us through innovation, quality, haute cuisine and first-class customer service. level.
